Week 51 - I LOVE the Temple!

This week has been such a great week, full of lots and lots of work and many miracles! I am so happt to be here and to serve all of these Tahitian people! I have built such a great love for each and every single one of them! Here are some highlights for my week!
  • We went to the Temple this week with our District and it was super awesome! It had been about 8 months so I was happy to be there! I love the Temple! It is also so cool because it is all in French and that isn't a problem for me anymore!
  • Last P Day we went and did a service project on the beach and picked up trash! I love spedning time with the members in my district! We are all such great friends!
  • We ate with a member in another Ward and he is from Tubuai and was there when I served in Tubuai! And he bought us a Coke to drink!!
  • We teach English class every Wednesday and Friday. I love the students that we have!
  • We had transfers and Elder Harrison and I are staying together again. After this transfer that will make 6 months that we have served together!
  • We have gotten so many new investigators and have been having so much success. We will be having some baptisms really soon. I am SO excited!
Thank you for all of your support! I love my mission and will never forget this time I have spent serving the Lord! I encourage you all to do something nice this week. Show the love of Christ you have for others! Stay awesome!!

    So happy to see that you got to go to the temple. How does it compare to our Sacramento Temple? Hope you had a wonderful 21st birthday we miss you and are so proud of you. Love, Grandma Haas

Bonjour tout le monde! I hope that you all had a great week and started off the New Year well! I am in my new area and I love it! It is a lot different then my last but I love my new companion! He is from France and we are literally the same person! It makes such a difference in the missionary work when you get along with your companion! The work goes so much smoother and it is a lot more fun! I love it! Like I said last week, I am in the city part of Tahiti, it is different, and there are a ton of people, but I like it! Week 23, 24, 25, 26 - I AM STILL ALIVE!!

I AM STILL ALIVE!! I apologize for no updates this past month! The internet on this little tiny island that I am on wasn't working, so I haven't been able to talk to ANYONE! But I am alive and well!! So much has happened this last month. One of our recent converts here just got married a few weeks ago and we were able to go the wedding! It was so much fun and we were able to eat a ton of weird foods. So, we were about to start eating and this person brings out this huge plate that is covered up and sets it right in the middle of the table. Then they proceeded to uncover this plate and BAM it is a cow head!! They just cooked a cow head for the center piece! And we literally just grabbed meat off the skull of this cow head with our hands and ate it! The craziest part is, it wasn't even that bad! Also, here on this tiny little island there are a TON of wild dogs, and they don't like the missionaries! So for our protection we decided it would be best to buy machetes! No

Week 28 & 29 - Miracles Really Do Happen!!

This week was a week full of miracles! I don't even know which miracle to start with. So we have this investigator named William. He took the missionary lessons about 2 years ago but then he stopped. Then 3 weeks ago he showed up at church with his family, so of course we went over and talked to him and introduced ourselves. One thing leads to another and we are talking about his experience with the missionaries and wondering why he didn't get baptized. My companion, Elder Harrison, asked him why he hasn't been baptized yet and he answered and said it is because him and his wife are not yet married. So then I asked why they weren't married. He replies and says that his wife doesn't want to get married yet, then in the background she comes up and says no they aren't married because he doesn't want to get married. So it was a total misunderstanding between the two of them! So then I was like, ok well why don't you get married? And then Elder Harrison says,
