Week 46 - Hello Tahiti!

Image
Helllloooooooo! Well it sure is HOT here on Tahiti!! It is a lot more humid here then it is on Tubuai! There are SO many cars!! We have Air Conditioning in our house with real beds!! YES!! I am driving .... a mini van! LOL Well being a Zone Leader sure is different! But I love every second of it! We had a leadership conference this week and it was awesome being with President Fox and being with all of the other missionaries that are leaders! It feels like we are always serving other missionaries which is SO awesome! And the best is we also get to do missionary work! I love every second of my mission! It is flying by so fast and I am grateful for the time that the Lord has given me to serve! I love you all so much and hope you have a great week! Love, Elder Kyle Van Lindt Saying goodbye to Tubuai

Week 45 - Goodbye Tubuai!

WELL ... I am leaving Tubuai! This week has been an exciting and good last week here in Tubuai. I felt like I was going to be transferred so I was ready for it. So I am going back to Tahiti and I will be serving as a Zone Leader there. I was pretty shocked when I heard the news because usually missionaries have been out on their missions for a lot longer when and if they are called to be a Zone Leader! I am really excited to be able to go back to Tahiti and serve there in the zone of Punaauia. In Punaauia I will have a car so that will be a lot different from biking 30-40 KM a day! I will be serving with Elder Harrison again, which I am excited about. The zone of Punaauia is the biggest zone in the mission with the most amount of missionaries. So this will be fun! I trust in the Lord and His plan for us. I know that I am supposed to do this for a reason. So this week we were riding our bikes down the road and I was looking over on the beach and in this area its not really like a be

Week 44 - Coconut Trees

Hello Everyone! So I got my companion back on Friday night! Elder Blazzard and I are back together. While he was gone I was in a trio with the two other Elders. One is from France and the other is a Tahitian. It was fun to have all of our three cultures together in one house. It was a cool experience to live with people that only speak French. It is honestly so cool that I can live with others that speak a totally different language then me and I totally understand and can talk to them like normal! This week was a week full of bike rides! We covered the entire island for the week and it sure was a lot of fun. I am pretty sure we did close to 30 miles every single day! It was a lot but my legs are getting use to all of the riding. It was nice to be able to meet other investigators and members in the other areas of the island! This next week is the last week before transfers. I most likely will be leaving the island. I have loved Tubuai and all the memories and lessons I have learn

Week 43 - Personal Revelation

Image
Hi Everyone! I hope this email finds you all doing well. Everything is still going well out here in Tubuai! The end of last week was a little hectic but all will be well! About a month ago my companion fell on his bike and hurt his elbow, but no one thought that it was a big thing and we thought it would heal. Well this week he was saying that it still hurts so we talked to the mission president and this morning he took a plane to Tahiti to get an x-ray because there are no doctors or x-ray machines on this island. So as of right now I am companionless! I have no idea if Elder Blazzard will come back or if I will get a new companion or what will happen. So for now I am with the other Elder's on the island and we will do a trio and cover the entire island. It should be interesting to say the least! This week I studied a bit about personal revelation. I was inspired from the talk from President Nelson, so I decided to actually study this topic. I learned that God WANTS to talk

Week 42 - General Conference

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well and had a great Easter Weekend! This week sure was hot out here in Tubuai. The humidity and heat really hit us, and my clothes were wet but this time with sweat! I have noticed that out on my mission my clothes are always wet! Either  from it raining so much or from it being so hot we sweat! I can't win! This past weekend we had General Conference. For those who don't know what this is, it is when the Prophet and his Apostles and other leaders of the church speak to us. What a blessing it is to have a living prophet on the Earth today. One of the talks that really touched me was President Nelson's talk about receiving personal  revelation. I think we can all receive personal revelation if we ask through prayer with real intent and a sincere heart and with faith. Knowing that is so rewarding because we can literally receive answers to our prayers. One day this week we came home to a horse that was standing right at our do
