Week 20 - Doctors & Trust in the Lord

Image
Hello Everyone! This week was a pretty rough week for me, but I will get to that later. To start off this week I got to go on a split with one of the Zone Leaders, Elder Hollowell. It was tons of fun! We were on foot and ended up walking over 15 kilometers in one day! It was also super hot! I got a super nice tan at least. We had tons of fun together. When I was with Elder Hollowell we went on a little 'blade' which is like when you go on a walk or drive or whatever and you have no destination in mind. We ended up finding this super awesome place so we took some cool pictures. So now for the banish news. I got a super bad infection this week on one of my fingers. I have no idea how I got it, but I was able to go see the doctors today to get it checked out. The doctors here are WAY different! It was honestly a little sketchy, but hopefully the medicine I got will help the infection go away! Scripture of the Week: Alma 38:5 "...I would that ye should remember, that

Week 19 - I LOVE the Temple!

Laorana!! I hope you all had a wonderful week full of so much joy and happiness! Just a quick update on Tahiti - It's still beautiful! This week was such a short week and went by so fast. The zone of missionaries I am in got the opportunity to go to the Temple this week. It was seriously like the best thing ever! The Temple is my most favorite place! I always feel the spirit so strong while I am there and it just feels like the best place to be! So I got a 'calling' in the Ward that I am serving in. I direct music on Sundays at church. And for those of you who don't know, I am probably the worst singer ever! But I love it and the members love it too! The mami (sister in the ward) who use to do it just smiles and laughs at me the whole time I am up there! This week my companion and I had a lesson with a new investigator who only speaks Tahitian. So I had to bust my books out and teach a lesson in Tahitian. It actually went really well. It was simple but the spiri

Week 18 - Casting Out Evil Spirits

WOW IT HAS BEEN SUCH A LONG WEEK!! Those extra 2 days without a P-Day really took it out of me! I am so tired! Today was a much needed day! So many things have happened this week. Let's start with talking about how our hot water broke this week. So yes, cold showers all week long for me! And the best part is the hot water still isn't fixed, so that means more cold showers for me! A crazy thing that happened this week was that we got a pet duck. His name is Ricky. He was all alone so we decided to pick him up and take him home and give him a good life! It was super fun, but only lasted about a day, then we let him go because pets are too big of a responsibility! Okay and a more crazy thing that happened, is that we got a new investigator this week, and man some crazy stuff happened! For the first lesson with him we started talking and I am just getting this really weird feeling the entire time and then the next thing I know our investigator starts talking about evil spir

Week 17 - Cockroaches

Hello, This week was another great week in the beautiful island of Tahiti! This week nothing too big happened, but I still have some pretty great stories for you all! I will start by talking about the weather and bugs here. So it has been raining a ton here lately so that means all the bugs and insects come into the houses. So in Tahiti, the cockroaches are just a normal thing and they are SO big! Also lizards are normal as well. So this week we had probably close to a hundred lizards just crawling around our house. No big deal! Then the cockroaches ... so I usually kill like 5 cockroaches a day, but one night when we got home, I went into the bathroom and counted 17 cockroaches! So I am like the master killer of cockroaches in our house because all the other Elders are like scared, so it's always my job. So instead of just spraying them with bug spray, this time I decided to have some fun with it. So an Elder has some Axe Body Spray, so I go that and then I grabbed a lighter a

Week 16 - Conference

Hello! This week was so crazy for me! I will start with my new companion! His name is Elder Dore. He is from Whales! He has only been on his mission 9 weeks longer then me, so we are both pretty new! Our French is about the same, so we are really having to work together. He is awesome! My old companion, Elder Glad, left on Monday to Bora Bora and my new companion didn't get here till Wednesday afternoon, so I was with the Zone Leaders for like 3 days this week. They are so awesome, and it was fun tagging along with them! I love Elder Hollowell (Zone Leader) so getting to spend 3 days with him was TONS of fun! We are like the same person so we get along so well! This week I have pretty much been doing all the teaching during lessons! It has been a big test of my French. But it actually went super well. We fixed 2 baptisms this week so I am hoping that they go through! This morning all the Elders  got up at 4am to go to the Sister's house and play a prank on them! So we h
