Week 98 - Entering the Waters of Baptism

Image
laroana!!! I hope you guys are doing well and had a great week this past week! This week was awesome! Elder Harris and I had 2 baptisms this past weekend, so that was way awesome! One was a 17 year old boy that we have been teaching! He was a miracle. He actually found our number somehow and called us up to take lessons. We have been teaching him for the last 4 weeks and got him ready to be baptized! His cousins was able to baptize him so that was really awesome! The other person was a woman named Amina. It has been about 3 months that we have been teaching her now. It was great to finally see her get baptized! I had the privilege of baptizing her! She was so happy and it made me so happy! Time is going by fast! I love my mission and the experiences I have had and continue to have! This has been the best moment of my life! I love serving the Lord and his children! I hope you all have a great week! I love you all! Elder Kyle Van Lindt

Week 97 - Happy Easter!

YOOOOOO!!!! I hope everyone had a great week and a wonderful Easter weekend! I hope you all enjoyed the candy and chocolate and Easter egg hunts and all that. BUT, I also hope you remembered the real meaning of Easter. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and His atonement, because of this we can all be with our families forever! This week was super awesome in our area! We had an apartment complex open up with 120 apartments. I am so excited for this upcoming week to go in and find some new people to teach! This week I have been reading in 3 Nephi in the Book of Mormon when Jesus Christ does His ministry in America. It is so great and we are so lucky to have another testimony of Jesus Christ along with the Bible where Jesus Christ Himself preaches to us! I hope you all have a great week! I love you all! Week 96 - Full Circle

Hello Everyone! I hope that you all had a great week and that you are all doing well! Life is great here in Tahiti. I love, love, love my mission and all the people here! This week was probably one of the best weeks of my entire mission!  Always good to eat with good friends! On Tuesday, we had the opportunity to go to the Temple with some members that came from Tubuai. I served in Tubuai a little over a year ago. It was so awesome being able to see the members from there. There was the Bennett Family there (the family that was baptized when I served there) and they went into the Temple for the first time. On Tuesday they got sealed. The parents and then with their kids. It was by far the best experience of my entire mission! I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to be here and to accompany this family all the way to the Temple!  Families are Forever Then on Wednesday morning we got the news that our Prophet President Nelson and Elder Gong will be coming here

Elder Harris and I scheduled another baptism this week! That makes 3 for the month of April! I am hoping and praying that they will go through and all will work out! I am also super grateful for the member in the ward I am in right now! They are seriously the nicest people ever and I am grateful to be with them. I am so lucky to be serving here in Tahiti with these people!  Me and Elder Harris  I love you all so much! I hope you have a great week! Elder Kyle Van Lindt

Week 94 - Hit the Ground Running

Hello Everyone! I hope you have all had a great week! This week has been great! It was my first week as a trainer and it was super fun. We study a lot but it is good for us! My companion is Elder Harris. He is from Utah. It has been fund serving with him and getting that reminder of what it is like to be a brand new missionary!  Elder Harris and me Welcoming Elder Harris to Tahiti This week we saw a miracle! There was this young man that called us on Wednesday night and asked if he could take the lessons with us. So we told him of course! On Thursday we stopped by his house and he explained his story a little bit. He is 17 years old, but apparently when he was 12 he took the lessons and wanted to be baptized but his parents wouldn't let him. Well, 5 years later, they finally accepted it. So he called us so that he could take all the lessons again and then get baptized. So we have another baptism this week! It was really nothing that we did, but simply a miracle from Go
