Week 102 - The Prophet Visits Tahiti

HELLO, BONJOUR, IAORANA!!!

I hope that you al had a great week! This week was super, super, super AWESOME! We had the privilege of having President Nelson here in Tahiti this last week! And let me tell you, it was AWESOME!

We had a blast hearing from Elder Haleck and his wife, Elder Gong and his wife, and President Nelson and his wife! It was an experience I will NEVER forget! If I had to type up everything they talked about I would need to write a book! But if I can share one thing with you, it is a little part from President Nelson's talk. He talked about the Plan of Salvation and compared it to a play. And in this play there are three acts. Act one is our life before Earth, Act two is life on Earth, and Act three is after this life on Earth. He talked about how in Act 2 we need to have an eternal perspective on things. There are many people who make decisions in this life on Earth that don't understand the effect it is making on their eternal perspective of life. He encouraged us all to have that eternal perspective and to make the right decisions today that will benefit us during Act 3 of this play we call life!

I hope you all have a great week and are able to apply the teachings of President Nelson in your lives! We are blessed to have a living prophet on earth. I know that President Russell M. Nelson is a prophet of God and is called of God to help and lead us here on Earth!

Bonjour tout le monde! I hope that you all had a great week and started off the New Year well! I am in my new area and I love it! It is a lot different then my last but I love my new companion! He is from France and we are literally the same person! It makes such a difference in the missionary work when you get along with your companion! The work goes so much smoother and it is a lot more fun! I love it! Like I said last week, I am in the city part of Tahiti, it is different, and there are a ton of people, but I like it! I will admit it is not the best being back on the bike again. I guess the workout is good! Elder Banthoud and I got some champagne this week for the New Year! Bien sur without alcohol! Week 23, 24, 25, 26 - I AM STILL ALIVE!!

I AM STILL ALIVE!! I apologize for no updates this past month! The internet on this little tiny island that I am on wasn't working, so I haven't been able to talk to ANYONE! But I am alive and well!! So much has happened this last month. One of our recent converts here just got married a few weeks ago and we were able to go the wedding! It was so much fun and we were able to eat a ton of weird foods. So, we were about to start eating and this person brings out this huge plate that is covered up and sets it right in the middle of the table. Then they proceeded to uncover this plate and BAM it is a cow head!! They just cooked a cow head for the center piece! And we literally just grabbed meat off the skull of this cow head with our hands and ate it! The craziest part is, it wasn't even that bad! Also, here on this tiny little island there are a TON of wild dogs, and they don't like the missionaries! So for our protection we decided it would be best to buy machetes! No

Week 28 & 29 - Miracles Really Do Happen!!

This week was a week full of miracles! I don't even know which miracle to start with. So we have this investigator named William. He took the missionary lessons about 2 years ago but then he stopped. Then 3 weeks ago he showed up at church with his family, so of course we went over and talked to him and introduced ourselves. One thing leads to another and we are talking about his experience with the missionaries and wondering why he didn't get baptized. My companion, Elder Harrison, asked him why he hasn't been baptized yet and he answered and said it is because him and his wife are not yet married. So then I asked why they weren't married. He replies and says that his wife doesn't want to get married yet, then in the background she comes up and says no they aren't married because he doesn't want to get married. So it was a total misunderstanding between the two of them! So then I was like, ok well why don't you get married? And then Elder Harrison says,
