Week 39 - Staying in Tubuai

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well because I am doing fantastic! I found out on Friday night that I will be staying out on Tubuai for another 6 weeks and I am so excited! This week has been super busy, but super awesome!

On Saturday morning we had a lesson with two of our investigators, Mateata and Itaia. Mateata is the wife of the man we baptized in December and Itaia is their son. So we have been teaching them and we had their baptism set for the end of this month, but at the lesson on Saturday morning we we're talking and out of no where Mateata says "I want to get baptized this Thursday the 15th!" So between Saturday and yesterday we have probably biked over 50 miles just trying to get everything ready for this Thursday! I am so excited to be able to witness this baptism and watch this family come together. They have the goal of going to the Temple next April to be sealed. There isn't words to describe how happy I am for their family.

The Lord keeps blessing Elder Blazzard and I. We are continuing to find new investigators every week. It is such a blessing because it seems like I know everyone on this little island since I have been here for so long, yet all of these new people keep appearing! I love being able to teach the gospel to people who don't have it in their lives!

I promise next week there will be some great pictures of the baptism. I love you all so much! Keep striving to be better every day! Thank you for all of the love and support you all give me!

Bonjour tout le monde! I hope that you all had a great week and started off the New Year well! I am in my new area and I love it! It is a lot different then my last but I love my new companion! He is from France and we are literally the same person! It makes such a difference in the missionary work when you get along with your companion! The work goes so much smoother and it is a lot more fun! I love it! Like I said last week, I am in the city part of Tahiti, it is different, and there are a ton of people, but I like it! Week 23, 24, 25, 26 - I AM STILL ALIVE!!

I AM STILL ALIVE!! I apologize for no updates this past month! The internet on this little tiny island that I am on wasn't working, so I haven't been able to talk to ANYONE! But I am alive and well!! So much has happened this last month. One of our recent converts here just got married a few weeks ago and we were able to go the wedding! It was so much fun and we were able to eat a ton of weird foods. So, we were about to start eating and this person brings out this huge plate that is covered up and sets it right in the middle of the table. Then they proceeded to uncover this plate and BAM it is a cow head!! They just cooked a cow head for the center piece! And we literally just grabbed meat off the skull of this cow head with our hands and ate it! The craziest part is, it wasn't even that bad! Also, here on this tiny little island there are a TON of wild dogs, and they don't like the missionaries! So for our protection we decided it would be best to buy machetes! No

Week 22 - Tubuai

Hello Everyone! Tubuai is the most beautiful place I have ever been in my life! So I got to Tubuai and the missionary work here is kind of at a stand still. Before I left for Tubuai the Mission President gave me a call and we talked and he told me that he needed me to get out there and get the ball moving again, and said he had faith that I could do it. So I got out here and we got straight to work. Rebuilding the relationship with the members, tons of service projects, a lot of activities at the church and just talking to every single person we see! And WOW, the missionary work is now moving! The members love my companion, Elder Harrison, and I, and we have been getting so many different referrals. I have a strong belief that members and missionary work go hand in hand. It is very important to have that support from the members! So out here in Tubuai everyone has a ton of land and there are a ton of farms! They grow a lot of their own food since there isn't a lot out here. T
